Description
Bound copy of the report for the family studies section of the survey of Chester conducted in the winter of 1929-1930. The report contains thirteen family studies assembled and edited by B. E. Astbury (former Secretary of the Chester Council of Social Welfare, and Assistant Secretary of the Charity Organisation Society) and Alexander Farquharson. It includes a summary of the findings followed by more detailed descriptions of each of the families containing information on family budget, daily routine, the house and furniture, diet, and recreation. Some of the studies include photographs and floor plans.
